Train to be a Trainer

Who Should Attend?
Anyone who is starting in the training world and wants an introduction to all elements of the Training Cycle, with particular emphasis on face to face training.

What will you achieve?
By the end of the workshop you will have explored the subject of training, focusing on the key elements of Training Needs Analysis, Design, Delivery, Assessment and Evaluation. You will practise many of the fundamental skills and behaviours that are needed for successful training development and delivery.

This workshop includes the use of video playback to develop your delivery style, enabling you to see areas of strength to build on, to help you identify areas for development, and to assess progress made over the course of the 5days.


  • The Training Cycle
    An overview of the stages of training, in order to put training delivery into context
  • The Stages of Learning, Learning Styles and the impact of this for them as trainers
    Including an assessment of and detailed report on all participants’ Learning Styles
  • Training Styles
    Delegate’s preferred training styles will be assessed for the impact this may have on their training
  • Training Needs Analysis, including its purpose, process and methodologies
  • Training Design, including structure, setting learning objectives, methodologies, materials & logistics 
  • The skills of facilitative training, putting these into practice and receiving feedback on their development
    Including personal impact, questioning, listening, building rapport 
  • How to prepare for training sessions
    Delegates will take into account the importance of the training environment, ensuring credibility and personal notes
  • Personal Impact
    An assessment of the delegates’ impact will be made via video recording along with an exploration of ways in which to achieve greater effectiveness
  • Ways to deliver effective facilitative training to small groups or individuals
  • Managing challenging delegate situations
  • The skills of feedback and coaching
    Including an opportunity to practice with their co-participants
  • Ways in which they can aid the learning process during their training interventions
  • Assessment and Evaluation, including purpose and methodologies
