Basic Training Delivery Skills

Who Should Attend?
Anyone who is starting to deliver face to face training and wants to learn new skills and explore how to use existing skills to be a facilitative trainer.

What will you achieve?
By the end of the workshop you will have explored the subject of training delivery, identifying and practising some basic skills and behaviours that are needed to deliver face to face training to a consistently high standard.

This workshop includes the use of video playback to enable you to see areas of strength to build on, to help you identify areas for development, and to assess progress made over the course of the 3 days.


  • The Training Cycle
    An overview of the stages of training, in order to put training delivery into context
  • The Stages of Learning, Learning Styles and the impact of this for them as trainers
    Including assessment of and detailed report on all participants’ Learning Styles
  • The skills of facilitative training, putting these into practice and receiving feedback on their development
    Including personal impact, questioning, listening, building rapport 
  • How to prepare for training sessions
    Including taking into account the importance of the training environment, ensuring credibility and personal notes
  • Personal Impact
    This will include videoing delegates in order to assess individual impact and explore ways in which to increase effectiveness
  • Ways to deliver effective facilitative training to small groups or individuals
  • Managing challenging delegate situations
  • The skills of feedback and coaching
    Including an opportunity for course delegates to practice with co-participants
  • Ways to enhance the learning process during their training interventions
